In 2017 I started ZVB Media as the newest branch of the Zed Vegas Bookings brand.
Zed Vegas Bookings (ZVB) is an independent band booking & promotion agency that was founded in 2014 by Justin Nichol, along with myself, as co-founder (photographer & media manager), as well as Jamieson Morris (booking agent) and Brooke Harley (photographer).
Sadly in November of 2016, Justin passed away very unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy that will be remembered as an unmatched dedication to the local live music scene & a never ending desire for helping others to succeed and reach their full potential.
With an outstanding reputation for booking killer lineups for shows & tours for his own roster of 10-15+ bands, Justin also worked with hundreds of other artists from all over the east coast of Australia.
Zed Vegas Bookings was founded with a specific mission – to support local artists, provide them with new opportunities, and always work with a sense of mutual respect and enthusiasm.
In Justin’s memory, ZVB Media continues to hold an annual mini festival celebrating Justin’s life and the music he loved, traditionally featuring a mix of ZVB bands Justin worked with, as well as other new bands, and old.
In 2018 JUSTINFEST was held on Saturday the 24th of November at The Tattersalls Hotel, Penrith.
I was responsible for creating the branding, artwork, website, booking the bands, venue and advertising the entire event.
It was very important to me that we supported a cause that was worthy of the event, and something that Justin would have been proud of, so we raised just over $900 for The Heart Foundation in his name, as well as booked one of his all time favourite artists, Scott Russo, lead singer of Unwritten Law, and he performed their acoustic album live in full, for the first time anywhere in the world.
